2026 has been one thing after another, good and bad, and now I have to take a break from writing and publishing to catch up on life. I’m fine, I promise. But Ghosts Cry is going to be delayed till November. That will make it a year between books, which is normal for traditional publishing, but crazy for me. Hopefully, I’ll emerge from author hibernation with all my ducks in a row for two books in 2027 and a couple of short stories. Blair is demanding hers (what was she like as the Vampire Queen?). I’ll also be taking a break from posting here and on Facebook. Please, come find me on Bluesky where I’ll check in https://bsky.app/profile/jennyschwartz.bsky.social

I have read about other authors taking a break from writing. Sometimes they write in a different genre to clear their palette.
Good luck.-
Thanks, Diane! and you’re so right. A change can be as good as a holiday – LOL and cheaper!

Yes, I’m disappointed, but I’d rather you take a break now than burn out and never write again. Be kind to yourself and take the time you need.
In the meantime there’s always the back catalog (I’ve just finished the Shamans and Shifters).-
I need that reminder way too often – be as kind to myself as I am to others. Thanks for your understanding and encouragement 🤗
